About me
Hello, my name is Dana May, I am a neuroscience PhD student with a passion for cooking, a deep love for reggae music and my Jamaican heritage.
I am the daughter of jamaican immigrant parents - my mom is from Porus, Jamaica while my dad is from Clarendon, Jamaica. While, I was born in America my parents never quite assimilated to "american culture" and instead raised up my siblings and I in our jamaican heritage. My love for jamaican food is due to my family only cooking jamaican dishes, drinks and desserts. My love for reggae is due to strictly hearing reggae music played by family members as a child. My dad, for example, was a rasta, reggae dj and taught my siblings and I all about reggae artists and riddims. I owe the jamaican woman I am today to my loving parents. My father taught me how to nourish my soul with reggae music while my mother taught me how to nourish my body with jamaican food and now I hope to teach you how to do the same!

I made this blog to share and store my recipes and kitchen tips, promote and document my journey through health and wellness and of course heal souls through reggae music!
